We are a collegial group of six physicians, an RN, Physio and Social Worker working in the heart of the Kootenays. Along with our PCN partners, we have a wonderful and supportive administrative staff, including a strong manager who catches us when we are undervaluing our work. Peer support and camaraderie make us a very functional team and is one of the many reasons we continue to enjoy practicing in Castlegar. A typical work week is four days a week. Those who also work in other disciplines generally work three days in clinic, but we are flexible. Most of us work on the LFP model, so income will correspond to how much you wish to work. Overhead is 25% of billings. If you work a month or more, you will also receive a proportional amount of the panel payment which comes to you separately. We have a regional airport (reliable in summer, less so in winter – full disclosure) and we are 3.5 hours from Kelowna with an international airport… but most of the time, you won’t find a need, as family and friends are happy to come here.
