Job Title: Skilled Laborer / Finish Carpenter – Film Trailer Manufacturing
Job Description
This role offers the opportunity to work as a skilled laborer and finish carpenter in a film trailer manufacturing facility in Chilliwack, BC. You will contribute to building and finishing high-quality custom trailers, performing a wide range of carpentry and installation tasks. The position is ideal for someone with hands-on construction experience who enjoys detailed finish work and wants to grow their skills in a supportive, training-focused environment.
Responsibilities
Install cabinets and ensure proper alignment, fit, and finish.
Perform general finish work, including backsplashes, trim, and crown molding.
Install baseboards with clean, precise cuts and joints.
Install appliances according to specifications and safety standards.
Install vinyl flooring, ensuring accurate measurements and quality workmanship.
Build and install interior walls as required for custom trailer layouts.
Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools safely and efficiently.
Read and interpret measurements accurately using tape measures and other measuring tools.
Maintain a high level of attention to detail to produce clean, professional finishes.
Work collaboratively with team members to complete projects on schedule.
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Essential Skills
Minimum 1 year of experience using hand tools and power tools in a construction or carpentry environment.
Minimum 1 year of experience in carpentry, finish carpentry, joinery, or cabinetry.
Proficiency with construction tools, including power tools, hand tools, and measuring tools.
Ability to perform detailed finish carpentry work such as trim, crown molding, backsplashes, and baseboards.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
Good English communication skills for following instructions and working with the team.
Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labor, including standing, lifting, and working with tools for extended periods.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with laminating wood is an asset.
Countertop installation or fabrication experience is a plus.
Background in cabinetry or joinery beyond the minimum requirements is beneficial.
Comfort working in a busy production environment with multiple ongoing projects.

Work Environment
You will work in a large manufacturing facility with approximately 50 workers. The temperature can be hot in the summer and colder in the winter, so you should be comfortable working in varying conditions. The standard schedule is Monday to Friday on first shift from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with overtime available once you are fully trained and have demonstrated strong performance. The dress code includes safety-toe work boots, long pants, and a T-shirt appropriate for a hands-on production environment.
