Reporting to Culinary Manager, the
Part-time
Café Worker
plays a vital role in delivering friendly, respectful, and efficient service in a fast-paced hospital setting. This role supports daily café operations while contributing to a calm, supportive atmosphere for patients, visitors, and staff during often stressful moments.

About the Opportunity
Greet customers and provide courteous, compassionate, and professional service
Take and accurately enter food and beverage orders into the POS system
Prepare and serve food and drinks in accordance with food safety standards
Operate café equipment such as coffee machines, ovens, and POS systems
Stock and display food and beverage items in an organized and attractive manner
Follow First-In-First-Out (FIFO) food rotation practices and monitor food temperatures
Process cash, debit, and credit transactions accurately and balance cash drawers
Maintain clean and sanitized food preparation, service, and dining areas
Follow hospital infection prevention and control, health, and safety policies
Work collaboratively with team members, volunteers, and healthcare partners
Demonstrate sensitivity to patient privacy and the hospital environment
Additional related duties as required
About You
In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration, and accountability, you bring:
High School Diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent
Food Safety Certification
Previous experience in food service, retail, or hospitality
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Strong teamwork and reliability in a fast-paced environment
Basic math and cash-handling skills
Comfort working in a healthcare environment with diverse populations
Experience working in a healthcare or non-profit environment considered an asset
Successful candidates will be required to obtain a
