Business Partner, Talent Acquisition (Hamilton LRT Project) Location: Toronto, ON; Hamilton, ON, CA Operating Sector: Human Resources What is the Opportunity? Reporting to the Manager, Talent Acquisition, the Talent Acquisition Business Partner plays a key role in delivering full‑cycle recruitment support for the Hamilton LRT project across Aecon’s Utilities and Civil sectors. What You’ll Do Here: Conduct full-cycle recruitment for all open roles across Aecon's Utilities and Civil division, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, reference checks, and extending offers. Identify strategies and sourcing channels to build a pipeline of candidates for the assigned portfolio. Establish connections, maintain a professional online presence, and prospect talent through your network. Provide trusted advice to hiring managers using diverse interviewing and assessment techniques to validate candidate experience levels. Consult with hiring managers and provide updates on labor market trends, candidate availability, sourcing methods, recruitment risks, relocation packages and more. Communicate regularly with the business to understand and forecast recruitment needs and initiatives. Assist and consult on the development of job descriptions and job postings. Guide candidates throughout the recruitment process and ensure a smooth onboarding experience in partnership with the Human Resources Business Administrator. Identify opportunities for process improvement and use recruitment data and metrics to gain insights into trends and incorporate them into overall strategies. Drive an inclusive culture by promoting equity, welcoming diverse perspectives, and enabling career progression. Create and execute an external sourcing plan to build strong, diverse talent pools and successfully attract and hire qualified talent. Develop a strong understanding of the workforce planning needs and talent roadmap for Aecon’s sector and industry segments. Promote Aecon’s values to culture the workplace, career opportunities, and benefits of working here. Proactively profile quality diverse talent to meet diversity needs by sector. Ensure all candidate data is captured and saved in ATS, and leverage sourcing tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter and Indeed. Reduce external recruitment agency spend by effectively recruiting passive candidates, talent programs, and projects. Build and maintain brand awareness, a network of industry contacts and strategic external partnerships. Regularly engage with internal partners including talent acquisition, equity, diversity, and inclusion and HR Leads to review strategic hiring needs and support recruiting activities across sectors. What You Bring to the Team: 5+ years recruitment experience with at least 3 years leading end‑to‑end recruitment efforts. Post‑secondary education in Human Resources or a business‑related area is an asset. Exceptional organizational and emerging project‑management skills with proven ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to make recommendations and influence outcomes. Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with team members, internal, and external stakeholders. Passion for and experience with diversity hiring initiatives. Collaborative self‑starter and creative problem solver. Experience with SAP is an asset. Experience with sourcing tools such as Indeed and LinkedIn Recruiter. Experience working on hard‑to‑fill roles and high‑volume sourcing scenarios. Able to operate independently to create recruitment sourcing pipelines and build a talent community. Demonstrated proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS). Construction, infrastructure, engineering, or related industry experience. Agency experience is an asset. This role follows a hybrid work model, combining in‑office collaboration with flexibility, with an expectation of three days per week in the office. We would consider candidates based out of our Etobicoke, ON office. Reason for Vacancy: New Expected pay range: $85,000 - $95,000 per year. Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions.
