Senior Business Consultant (Power BI / Business Analysis / Capital Markets) Location: Toronto, ON Duration: 12-Month Contract (Extension Possible) Work Model: Hybrid (1–2 days/week in office) Rate: $80–$92/hour (Incorporated) About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Consultant to support a large-scale Capital Markets transformation initiative focused on business analysis, reporting, and analytics. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of business and technology, gathering requirements, engaging stakeholders, and building meaningful reporting solutions that drive business decisions. In addition to supporting a major regulatory initiative, you will contribute to ongoing reporting, automation, and process improvement projects while developing executive-level Power BI dashboards and analytics. Key Responsibilities Partner with business stakeholders to gather and document business and reporting requirements. Lead business analysis sessions and translate business needs into technical reporting solutions. Develop Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), process flows, and supporting project documentation. Work closely with technology teams to design, test, and implement reporting datasets and data solutions. Analyze and validate data to ensure reporting accuracy and integrity. Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and executive reporting. Create dashboards that communicate trends, KPIs, operational metrics, and business insights. Support project planning, testing, issue resolution, and stakeholder communications. Identify opportunities for reporting automation and continuous process improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams across business and technology. Support strategic initiatives and contribute to operational excellence. Required Qualifications (Must Have) University degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Analytics, or a related field. 3–7 years of experience in Business Analysis, Consulting, Reporting, Analytics, or Project Delivery. Strong experience gathering and documenting business requirements. Experience translating business needs into reporting and analytics solutions. Advanced Power BI development experience. Advanced Microsoft Excel. Experience performing data analysis and data validation. Strong understanding of Business Intelligence, reporting, and analytics concepts. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience within Capital Markets or Financial Services. Knowledge of Trade Servicing, Operations, Settlements, or T+1 initiatives. Experience supporting regulatory or enterprise transformation projects. Experience with process improvement and reporting automation.
