Monday through Friday, days, evenings, Saturdays days when required. This casual position is temporary until March 2027 As a member of the healthcare team, the Business Clerk provides clerical, administrative or business support to patients, families and those providing service and/or care. The Business Clerk in Central Scheduling will be the face of RJCHC and must be able to respond effectively to all client inquiries. This role is responsible for providing all aspects of administrative, clerical, reception, and data entry functions related to scheduling and attending client appointments both onsite and in the community. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to greeting clients, attending visits, scheduling onsite and community visits and data entry. They must respond to client and family inquiries and redirect to or obtain information from appropriate staff in clinical programs as required. Functions according to the job description for Business Clerks. Central Registration and Scheduling is a service provided to the Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre (RJCHC). The RJCHC includes Developmental Pediatrics and Rehabilitation Services, Autism Spectrum Disorders Service, Child and Youth Mental Health Program, Extensive Needs Program and Prosthetics and Orthotics. These clinical programs are comprised of many different clinical services and clinics providing multi-disciplinary outpatient services to children and some adults with developmental, emotional or behaviourial, physical, or communication needs. Graduate of a Community College Secretarial Program, Office Administration 3. Minimum of 1 year experience in a Business Clerk role that included scheduling and booking patient appointments 4. Medical Terminology Certificate 1 and 2 or demonstrated Knowledge equivalent to the Medical Terminology Certificate 1 and 2 acquired in a different Business Clerk position, which may be subject to testing 5. Demonstrated knowledge and skills in using EPIC, MS Office, MS Access, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Exchange, MS PowerPoint and Medical Record practices. 6. Demonstrated proficiency in keyboarding and typing skills (minimum of 40 wpm), which may be subject to testing. 7. Demonstrated excellence in telephone communication skills in a fast paced clinic environment. 8. Mathematical skills related to clinic data and scheduling 9. Demonstrated excellence in communication skills (verbal and written), interpersonal, public relations and problem-solving skills 10. Demonstrated ability to set priorities and organize work accordingly. 11. Demonstrated Ability to appreciate the confidential nature of the position. 12. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize work effectively 13. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills 14. Excellent written and oral communication skills 15. Demonstrated ability to deal with various hospital departments effectively and collaboratively 16.
