As a member of the healthcare team, the Business Clerk provides clerical, administrative and/or business support to patients, families and those providing service and/or care. The business clerk will function within this dynamic high paced clinic assisting with directing patient flow, ensuring physician orders for tests are booked and working within the unit specific job description for Business Clerks. This includes care to a diverse pediatric and adult population. This includes collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team and works within a complex, fast paced environment. 1. Grade 12 or equivalent 2. Graduate of community college secretarial or office administration program or equivalent office experience 3. Medical Terminology Certificate 1 and 2 or demonstrated knowledge equivalent to the Medical Terminology Certificate 1 and 2 acquired in a different Business Clerk position, which may be subject to testing 4. Keyboarding 40 wpm 5. Knowledge and skill in using computer including Meditech, Community Wide Scheduling, and Novari (preferable) 6. Demonstrated effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, public relations and problem-solving skills 7. Ability to set priorities and organize work accordingly 8. Ability to deal with various hospital departments effectively and collaboratively 9. Ability to appreciate the confidential nature of the position 10.Ability to sit and stand for long periods, repetitive reaching, repetitive bending Monday to Friday; days, evenings This position is temporary until January 2028
