As a Business Advisor, Data & Analytics with Vancouver Coastal Health you will:
Examine and interpret organizational data to unlock valuable insights to inform strategic decision‑making.
Support the department’s mission to enhance data‑driven decision processes, identify meaningful trends, and contribute significantly to the improvement of our business operations.
Collaborate with partners across the organization to understand and gather data requirements.
Build and apply effective data models to support business objectives.
Utilize a variety of analytical tools and techniques to generate comprehensive reports and visualizations.
Analyze complex data sets to provide useful insights into business outcomes.
Contribute to the development and execution of data‑driven strategies for business optimization.
Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all analytical activities.
Keep up with industry developments and innovations in data analytics and business intelligence tools.
Carry out responsibilities in accordance with health and safety requirements.
Immediately report unsafe situations by notifying supervisor or other appropriate personnel.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field, with a minimum of three (3) years’ recent, related experience in data analysis, business analytics, or a similar role, with a preference for experience in the healthcare sector or in organizations of comparable complexity.
Demonstrated ability to apply data modelling, analysis, and visualization techniques in a business context.
Knowledge & Abilities
Proven experience in data analysis, business analytics, or a similar role.
Advanced proficiency in analytical tools and software (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI).
Knowledge of database systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or MS SQL.
Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to think analytically.
Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and predictive modeling, capable of applying these techniques to forecast trends and inform strategic decisions. Strong understanding of data privacy and security principles, especially relevant in the healthcare industry, to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information.
Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into understandable insights and recommendations for non‑technical stakeholders.
Experience in stakeholder management, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with various departments and communicate complex data insights to non‑technical audiences effectively.
A collaborative team player with a proven track record of working effectively with cross‑functional teams.
Detail‑oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.
Develops and maintains strong relationships with key internal and external partners to promote and enhance services provided with sensitivity to diversity and an indigenous lens.
Practices the recognition, inclusion and support of all types and aspects of diversity at all stages of engagement, with an understanding of the issues faced by people from equity‑deserving groups.
Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
Requirements & Compliance
Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check. As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly‑funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks.
