Job DescriptionJob Description About the Role: As a Building Operator, you will be responsible for maintaining small to medium-sized buildings, building systems, and equipment. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems. What You’ll Do: Fosters a culture of continuous improvement (maintaining quality and safety requirements); and customer service excellence within service delivery team. Works closely with Building Operating Engineers and General Maintainers on day-to-day deliverables. Self-performs/administers through staff: maintenance and operations including but not limited to preventative/corrective/demand maintenance; inspections/tours of equipment, systems, and areas; and task/work plan documentation including CMMS Responds to emergency calls when directed. Familiar with all aspects of plant/building operations including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and ensures systems operated safely/efficiently. Conducts inspections on mechanical, electrical and HVAC systems and related equipment including water treatment, boilers, heat pumps, roof top units, air conditions, etc., as per work plan and completes appropriate record logs. Takes readings/reviews major equipment readings either directly or through Building Automation System (BAS) including mechanical, electrical and HVAC systems and related equipment. Carries out preventative maintenance tasks as prescribed on equipment/systems. Completes repairs/maintenance as required including belts, pulleys, filters, etc. Responds to client/tenant concerns in a timely manner and applies engineering principles/problem solving techniques to evaluate/resolve operating issues as required. Ensures work/equipment areas are maintained in a clean/safe/professional manner. Ensures job functions are performed safely/healthy, abiding by and in accordance with applicable Health, Safety and Environmental company policies and government legislation/ regulations. Demonstrates ongoing, continuous learning; maintains knowledge of current trends/technological advancements in field, including up to date knowledge of bylaws, codes, regulations, and standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: BES I Certificate; or 4th class Operating Engineer; or provincial trades certification of qualification or equivalent field work experience. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of facilities Proven computer skills (i.e., Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Outlook) Working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Building Automation System (BAS) Ability to read and understand drawings and schematics Ability to communicate effectively in English (oral and written) Ability to work in a team environment Applicants must be currently authorized to work in Canada without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future Additional Info: Shift: Day Shift (Monday to Friday) Location: Jane & Hwy 7 Pay: $33.00/hr Duration: 1-2 months Status: Full-Time May be required to respond to emergency maintenance calls Must be able to safely perform physical work including climbing ladders, lifting equipment, walking throughout the facility, and working in mechanical rooms Must follow all on-site Health & Safety requirements If you have the required experience and qualifications, please apply with your current resume.
