Our client is currently seeking an experienced
Credit Union
Branch Manager
to lead a high-performing financial services branch in Surrey, BC. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving business growth, developing a strong team, and delivering exceptional member/client service within the community.
Position Overview
The Branch Manager is a hands-on leader with deep expertise in financial services and a passion for team development, operational excellence, and community engagement. This individual will lead by example, foster strong relationships, and drive both business development and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Business Growth & Community Development
Drive profitable branch growth through active community engagement and business development initiatives
Develop and implement marketing plans to increase membership, lending, and deposit growth
Represent the organization at community and networking events
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, mentor, and coach a team to deliver high levels of service and performance
Facilitate training sessions focused on sales, service, and product knowledge
Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
Operations & Performance Management
Oversee day-to-day branch operations, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures
Optimize staffing, resources, and workflows to enhance efficiency and service delivery
Monitor and manage branch performance, including financial results and operational metrics
Lending & Financial Oversight
Review financial statements and credit documentation to approve or recommend lending decisions
Oversee retail lending activities including mortgages, lines of credit, and personal loans
Identify opportunities for commercial lending and refer as appropriate
Staffing & Culture
Participate in hiring, performance management, and employee development
Foster a positive, professional, and service-oriented team environment
Address operational challenges and support continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Minimum 5 years of senior branch management experience within a financial institution
At least 2 years of external business development experience
Minimum 2 years of retail lending experience
Post-secondary education in finance, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Technical Knowledge
Strong understanding of financial services operations, lending practices, and branch management
Ability to analyze financial statements and make sound business decisions
Knowledge of business development strategies and market growth techniques
Core Competencies
Proven leadership and team development skills
Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range:
$85k – $98k
Structured salary progression with regular increases
