Overview
An integral part of the ministry of Bancroft Youth Unlimited, the Administrative Assistant works to handle all administrative aspects of the satellite’s operation. This person understands the need for ministry to young lives and strives to support the Satellite Director and volunteers. This position does not include direct involvement with the youth or in the youth ministry programs.
Detailed Description
Administrative Responsibilities (7.5 Hours per Week):
Provide administrative support to the Satellite Director while the Director:
Oversees staff and program
Develops new ministry opportunities
Fundraises for the ministry
Sends personal and ministry communications
Pursues other projects
Record and distribute minutes from team and steering committee meetings
Organize and maintain a home office
Compose/proofread/edit satellite communications
Supervise volunteers assisting in office-related tasks
Manage confidential volunteer files; coordinate ongoing HR paperwork for new volunteers and staff
Use email, letters, phone and social media to communicate with volunteers, partners, local churches and businesses
Manage office expenses, and petty cash
Run errands for supplies or to drop off information at local churches & businesses
Organize and co-lead fundraising events and projects. Responsibilities may change from year to year, depending on availability of volunteers
Book rentals of Switchyard facilities and communicate with renters about expectations
Other duties as assigned
Personal Development (~1 Hour per Week, spread out throughout the year):
Pursue an active and growing relationship with God.
Attend day-long Kawartha Youth For Christ Connect Meetings five times a year
Participate in training opportunities to be better equipped for the job (as approved by the Satellite Director)
Participate in the YFC Canada Credentialing Program as time permits.
