Our innovative app allows to manage multiple eSiMs within a single account - allowing users to effortlessly juggle several plans and share connectivity. ✨ About the Role You will work within the backend team under the guidance of a Backend Tech Lead and report into the CDO (Chief Development Officer). You are expected to work independently on complex tasks, participate actively in code reviews, and deliver tested, production-ready code within a structured Scrum process. This is a hands-on engineering role. You write code, you own quality, you ship. 📝 Responsibilities Engineering & Code Quality Write clean, maintainable PHP code following SOLID principles – not as theory, but as daily practice Design, write, and maintain unit tests (PHPUnit) and integration tests – meaningful coverage on all new and modified code Participate in code reviews via GitHub Pull Requests – every PR goes through review before production, no exceptions Work with PHPStan, CS Fixer, and linters as part of the CI pipeline – code that doesn't pass automated checks doesn't get merged Contribute to gradual decomposition of legacy monolith components into cleaner, modular architecture Own the quality of your deliverables: if your code breaks in production, you're the first person who investigates Delivery & Collaboration Work within sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives – Scrum is how we work, not a formality Deliver predictably within sprint commitments – flag blockers early, communicate proactively Collaborate with Tech Lead on technical decisions, architecture discussions, and estimation Support teammates through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and pair debugging Follow Definition of Ready and Definition of Done – stories enter sprints prepared and leave sprints tested Modern Tooling & Continuous Improvement Be open to adopting and learning modern development tools, including internal team solutions Propose improvements to codebase, tooling, and processes when you see a better way Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements and deployment process optimization We value engineers who ask "how can this be done better?" and then actually do it CI/CD & Process Work within GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines Follow branch protection rules: PRs require approvals, no direct pushes to production Keep documentation current – architecture decisions, runbooks, technical debt notes Maintain and contribute to technical documentation: API specifications, data flow diagrams, and onboarding materials. When you build or change a system, the documentation update is part of "done" 📩What We’re Looking For 3+ years of professional PHP development (mixed environments: framework-based and pure PHP) PHP as it is (vanilla) – solid working experience (our main stacks are frameworkless) Laravel – working experience (not all our stacks use it) MySQL – query optimization, schema design, migrations PHPUnit – you've written tests and you believe in them, not just on your CV SOLID, DRY, KISS – you can explain these and demonstrate them in code review Experience writing and maintaining technical documentation – API docs, architecture overviews – as part of regular workflow, not as a separate task Git & GitHub – branching strategies, PR workflows, conflict resolution REST API design – you've built APIs that other teams or services consume Docker – local development, staging environments Strong understanding of code review culture – you give constructive feedback and receive it well English – professional working level (documentation, PR comments, technical discussions) Russian – minimum A1 (team communication language) ⭐️ Nice-to-Haves ClickHouse or other analytical databases AWS services (we use it alongside Hetzner) Experience in telecom, eSIM, or SaaS products Familiarity with PHPStan, CS Fixer or similar static analysis tools Exposure to Scrum/Agile delivery frameworks (Jira, sprint planning, retrospectives) ISO 27001 awareness or experience working in security-conscious environments Python or Bash scripting for automation Experience with GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines 🎁 What We Offer Ownership of complex features and components from day one Direct collaboration with Tech Lead and CDO – your technical input matters Adopting modern engineering culture: modern tools and internal solutions to make work faster and smarter together
