Job DescriptionJob Description Babysitter / Childcare Provider Are you a reliable, caring childcare professional who enjoys helping children feel safe, supported, and engaged? We are looking for compassionate Babysitters to provide attentive care for infants through school-age children. This role is a great fit for someone who is patient, trustworthy, and confident caring for children of different ages and needs. The role is casual and ad-hoc. You set your rate and availability and get notified when there are shifts available. As a Babysitter, you will help create a safe, positive, and nurturing environment while supporting each child’s daily routine. You will engage children in fun, age-appropriate activities, assist with meals and bedtime routines, and communicate clearly with parents or guardians about the child’s care. Responsibilities Supervise children ages 0–12 to ensure their safety, comfort, and well-being Prepare simple meals and snacks appropriate for each child’s age and needs Follow established family routines, including naps, bedtime, and daily care expectations Engage children in creative play, reading, games, and educational activities Plan age-appropriate activities that support development, learning, and fun Monitor children closely and respond calmly and appropriately to concerns or emergencies Support basic childcare needs such as feeding, diapering, toileting, and tidying up after activities Maintain clear, respectful communication with parents or guardians about the child’s day, behavior, and any concerns Provide occasional overnight care when needed Mandatory Requirements Prior childcare experience caring for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, or school-age children Strong understanding of child safety, supervision, and age-appropriate care Patient, dependable, and attentive personality Ability to manage the needs of multiple children when applicable Excellent communication skills with both children and parents Strong time management and ability to follow family routines Willingness to provide professional or childcare-related references Willingness to complete a background check or provide a current background check Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of childcare experience High school diploma or equivalent Experience caring for children across multiple age groups Knowledge of childcare best practices, developmental milestones, and basic safety protocols CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification Ideal Candidate The ideal Babysitter is warm, responsible, and calm under pressure. You enjoy spending time with children, understand the importance of safety and structure, and can balance fun with clear boundaries. Families should feel confident knowing their children are in caring, capable hands.
