If Interested please send your resume to *gtapp@actalentservices.com" Electrical Engineer - Avionics R&D & Integration Grapevine, TX (Onsite) We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to support hands-on R&D, prototyping, and integration of avionics systems in a fast-paced aerospace and defense environment. This role offers direct involvement across the full engineering lifecycle-from concept through testing and validation-working closely with cutting-edge avionics hardware in a lab setting. What You'll Do + Design and prototype avionics subsystems and aircraft electrical components (power systems, control units, instrumentation, and accessories) + Develop and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system interfaces + Perform hands-on testing, integration, and validation of avionics hardware + Build and execute test plans, procedures, and custom test setups + Troubleshoot complex issues across analog, digital, and power electronics + Integrate avionics systems with aircraft power, communication buses, and mission systems + Support system-level integration and collaborate with cross-functional teams + Work directly with avionics hardware such as navigation, communication, and electrical systems + Contribute to requirements definition, verification, and validation + Support technical documentation for certification and customer deliverables + Take ownership of systems and components through design, prototype, and validation phases What You Bring + Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) + 3-10+ years of experience in aerospace, avionics, or defense + Strong experience with hardware prototyping, testing, and system integration + Ability to read and develop schematics and wiring diagrams + Hands-on experience with lab equipment: + Oscilloscopes + Digital multimeters (DMMs) + Power supplies + Signal generators + Knowledge of analog, digital, and power electronics + Experience troubleshooting across multiple electrical domains + Experience working with avionics or aircraft electrical systems Preferred Experience + Exposure to Honeywell avionics systems or components + Experience with communication, navigation, or mission systems + Experience supporting military or defense programs + Familiarity with avionics architectures (GPS/INS, radios, instrumentation) + Knowledge of standards such as DO-160, DO-254, ARP4754 + Experience with aircraft power distribution or electromechanical systems + Exposure to regulated environments (FAA, EASA, certification processes) Work Environment + Hands-on, lab-focused engineering role (not desk-only) + Direct access to avionics hardware and test equipment + Work across R&D, prototyping, integration, and validation + High-visibility projects in military and commercial avionics + Lean, collaborative team with strong technical ownership Why This Role + Full lifecycle exposure-design test integration + Highly technical, hands-on engineering work + Opportunity to work on next-gen avionics systems + Direct impact in a high-visibility aerospace environment Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grapevine, TX.
