Description
Position Summary
Under the direction of the F&B Manager, this position is responsible for assisting management and profitability of the F&B Department while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members at the site level. The Assistant F&B Manager assists with the planning and directing of F&B operations, provides input for Performance Evaluations, actively participates in the recruitment and hiring process, ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.
Key Accountabilities
Provides leadership, direction and mentoring to the operation on a shift basis as well providing input to the Manager for delivering Performance Evaluations
Implements food & beverage strategic plans under the direction of the Manager
Promotes/markets the outlet (business card lunch draws, promotional fliers, event advertising, etc.)
Maximizes the revenues of the food outlet while minimizing operating costs
Participates in the monthly inventory count and forwards discrepancies to the Manager
Offers food and beverage expertise to internal and external customers
Submits all outlet food and beverage related POs and invoices to the manager for approval
Carries out inspections on a regular basis to ensure consistency and reports maintenance and supplies deficiencies
Sources out new products and services and make recommendations for improvements
Assists in maintaining food and beverage labor costs
Responds and resolves guest/customer issues as escalated
Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
Develops and cultivates strong working relations hips with all stakeholders (guests, ownership and team members)
Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
Manages other initiatives as required
Education and Qualifications
Post Secondary hospitality or hotel education or suitable combination of education and experience
Minimum 2 years food and beverage supervisory or management experience
Liquor Service Certificate
Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
Computer literacy in MS Office
POS experience
Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License
Work Environment Considerations
Regular office, restaurant or casino environment, standing or walking for long periods of time, some exposure to noise, odors, non-traditional work hours.
