KPMG Law LLP is a national law firm affiliated with the professional services firm of KPMG LLP, with offices in major markets across Canada. As an integrated, multidisciplinary firm, our lawyers work closely with accountants and other professionals on complex client engagements across a broad range of legal and tax-related practice areas.
We are looking for disciplined and self-motivated M&A Associate Lawyers to join our team in our Toronto office. Our Business Law group provides legal advice with respect to private mergers and acquisitions, complex reorganizations, corporate finance and general corporate and commercial matters.
What you will do
Advise clients on domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations and other corporate transactions
Lead tax structuring and due diligence efforts and guide post-transaction integration
Draft and review legal documents related to tax aspects of corporate transactions
Collaborate with corporate lawyers, accountants and deal advisors across KPMG Law LLP and KPMG Canada
Support business development and contribute to thought leadership in M&A tax
Mentor junior associates and help build a high-performing team
Deliver practical, client-focused solutions with precision and insight
Stay current on evolving tax legislation and regulatory developments
What you bring to the role
LL.B or J.D. and a ctive membership and good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
3-5 years of post-call related corporate commercial experience gained from a reputable law firm
Broad corporate and M&A experience and proficiency
Excellent interpersonal skills, and a practical and pragmatic style toward providing expert legal solutions
The ability to balance the demands of an emerging practice
KPMG Ontario Region Pay Range Information
The expected base salary range for this position is $140,000 to $190,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant's base salary within this range is based on the individual's location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
