What is the opportunity?
Oversee end-to-end Canadian tax reporting for RBC Investor Services’ investment products (Pooled Funds, Mutual Funds, Hedge Funds). Ensure accurate, timely CRA and Revenu Québec compliance while maintaining unitholder records and tax statements. Lead year-end tax projects and cross‑functional initiatives with Fund Valuations and Financial Reporting teams. Shape operationalisation of evolving tax regulations, participate in industry forums, and drive process improvements. Serve as escalation point for complex tax matters, communicating regulatory updates to senior management and stakeholders, while mitigating operational and reputational risk.
Responsibilities
Manage a team of eight full‑time and two part‑time employees.
Provide timely communications, proactive support, advice, coaching and development to staff.
Lead the strategy and accurate, timely production of all client and unitholder outputs including statements, trade confirmations, tax slips and ad hoc reporting.
Oversee the overall tax process, regulatory filings, print vendor management and coordination with all internal teams related to the tax process, as well as ongoing income reconciliation and CRA remittance activities.
Maintain knowledge of all regulatory tax requirements that may affect RBCIS through participation in tax committees and interaction with internal tax resources.
Participate as a member of the Management team and disseminate corporate messages and initiatives through the reporting line.
Work with Client Service Managers and Relationship Managers to properly manage client expectations.
Qualifications
Strong organization and time‑management skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
At least five years of related tax reporting experience in the investment fund industry or public accounting, preferably within the financial services industry.
Strong analytical, project‑management and problem‑solving capabilities, with a forward‑looking and continuous‑improvement mindset.
Proven ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities and deliver against critical regulatory deadlines.
Nice-to-Have
Knowledge of the custody industry.
Knowledge of the fund industry.
Project‑management skills.
Advanced technical skills (Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint and communication tools).

Pay range for this position is $105,000.00 – $155,000.00, subject to factors such as experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals, market conditions and business needs.
