What - the Opportunity Reporting to the Vice President, Professional Conduct, the Associate Director plays a key role in regulating the professional conduct of members, students, and firms. This position is responsible for investigating complaints, supporting regulatory processes, and ensuring fair and effective resolution of professional conduct matters. Key responsibilities include: Conduct investigations into professional conduct complaints in accordance with governing legislation, bylaws, policies, and procedures. Prepare investigation reports, case presentations, and recommendations for committee review. Draft determination and recommendation documents following committee meetings. Participate in discipline hearings as a witness, when required. Support continuous improvement of investigation processes, systems, and regulatory programs. Assist with policy development, reporting, records management, and compliance initiatives. Take ownership of special projects related to investigator training, document management, and process enhancements. Who - the Candidate Required Experience & Qualifications CPA designation. 3+ years of public practice experience within a CPA firm. 3+ years of investigations experience, ideally within a regulatory, compliance, or professional conduct environment. Key Skills Strong investigative, analytical, and professional judgment skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with diplomacy and integrity. Skilled at stakeholder management, conflict resolution, and relationship building. Ability to balance multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively. Nice to Have Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation or other investigation-related credentials. Where Downtown Vancouver with a hybrid work arrangement (2-3 days per week from home).
