The Assistant Front End Manager supports the daily operations of the front-end department to ensure excellent customer service, efficient checkout operations, and a positive shopping experience. This role assists with supervising front-end staff, maintaining company policies, handling customer concerns, and ensuring smooth store operations. Key Responsibilities Customer Service & Operations Ensure exceptional customer service at all times Oversee daily front-end operations including cashiers, customer service desk, and baggers Assist in resolving customer complaints and inquiries promptly and professionally Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards in the front-end area Staff Supervision & Training Assist with scheduling, staffing, and shift coverage Support hiring, onboarding, and training of front-end employees Provide coaching, guidance, and performance feedback to team members Ensure staff adherence to company policies and procedures Cash Handling & Compliance Monitor cash handling procedures, tills, and POS operations Assist with cash counts, deposits, refunds, and voids as required Ensure compliance with loss prevention, safety, and food retail regulations Administrative & Store Support Support Front End Manager in meeting sales, productivity, and service goals Prepare reports related to front-end performance as needed Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth store operations Act as Front End Manager in their absence Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary education an asset) Previous experience in grocery retail or front-end supervision preferred Strong customer service and communication skills Leadership ability with a hands-on management style Knowledge of POS systems and cash handling procedures Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 25 lbs Ability to move throughout the store as needed
