What you will be doing
You will be a welcomed member of the Aspira Management team and impact in the following ways:
Collaborating with the Director of Wellness to promote and ensure standards of practice are achieved and evaluated; completing all stable resident. Re-assessments in conjunction with Nursing team, in absence of DOW complete Initial assessments, developing service plans and arranging resident/family care conferences as required to ensure all data is valid and up to date.
Ensuring resident care needs are assessed; developing plan of care and determining corresponding care fees and staffing requirements.
Collaborating with the Director of Wellness to schedule and adjust staffing levels to ensure consistency with the residence’s occupancy levels, the acuity of the residents and the services being offered.
Provide oversight and management of the Continence Care Program; completing assessments, orders, sizing, and service transitions.
Overseeing and supervising the medication administration program including administering of medications, completing audits, monitor control, training of new team members and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics.
Coverage for Dow Absences
Manage Wellness Team Onboarding and education requirements
Developing professional and collaborative relationships with hospital staff, participate in marketing outreach such as presentations on wellness services and aging in place philosophy
To collaborate with the DOW to manage care revenue and labour costs in line with annual budgets, monitor labour metrics such as overtime and take corrective action in collaboration with the DOW
Supervises the wellness team and provides performance management support including conducting performance reviews. Conducts investigations and makes recommendations in consult with Director of Wellness and Human Resources.
Supports with the Director of Wellness recruitment process for new wellness team members.
Reports, analyze and monitors all resident incidents and directs staff regarding interventions to prevent reoccurrence as applicable
Performing other duties as assigned
What you need to know
A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in good standing with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
Minimum three years’ experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
Previous experience in a Nursing Leadership Role
Must possess excellent supervisory and leadership abilities
Must express initiative, good judgment and foster a positive work atmosphere
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook
Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check
You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit
