APP Manager – Cancer DSL, Network (Day - 08 Hour, United States of America)
A Brief Overview
The APP Manager provides administrative and clinical practice leadership, managing APPs (Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists) across Stanford Medicine Cancer Center’s network and affiliate sites. The role includes hiring, onboarding, scheduling, performance management, regulatory support, and transition to practice coordination, partnering with physicians, nurses, and operational leaders to ensure effective staffing, workflow, workforce engagement, and support for quality outcomes.
What you will do
Manage assigned staff and functions, establishing schedules and monitoring performance to meet goals and targets.
Interview and hire staff, provide training, evaluate performance, and recommend personnel actions as needed.
Participate in or lead efforts to assess outcomes of APP care within SHC.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
Implement evidence‑based practices that support cost‑savings and revenue‑generating initiatives.
Collaborate with the Director of Advanced Practice to improve the work environment for APPs.
Support shared governance and participate in Magnet activities.
May also participate in a clinical practice.
Education Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Nursing or other healthcare‑related field (for advanced practice nurse).
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Physician Assistant Studies, or health‑care related field (for physician assistant).
Experience Qualifications
Five (5) years of experience as a licensed advanced practice provider (Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Nurse Specialist, or Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist).
Management experience preferred.

Practice evaluation and process improvement.
Knowledge of national professional organization and regulatory agency initiatives.
Standards of care and practice of APP roles.
Clinical competence and in‑depth specialty knowledge.
Knowledge of trauma services delivery.
Effective oral and written communication.
Ability to establish and maintain relationships with diverse groups.
Planning, organizing, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines.
Promote inquiry and evidence‑based practice using research‑based knowledge.
Use educational strategies to influence staff development and quality care provision.
Communicate effectively in various settings.
Recognize, reward, and counsel staff.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Conduct efficient and supportive process improvement activities.
Contribute positively to institution‑wide and Center of Advanced Practice initiatives.
Translate and implement national initiatives at SHC.
Work full‑time.
Licenses and Certifications
Physician Assistant – State licensure.
Registered Nurse – State licensure or Compact State licensure.
Nurse Practitioner – State licensure.
Clinical Nurse Specialist – State licensure.
Certified Nurse Anesthetist – State licensure.

Base Pay Scale
Generally starting at $106.01 - $140.47 per hour. The final pay will be determined by internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
