Position: Angular + Java Developer Tech Lead Employment Type: Full-Time / FTE Location: Canada - 100% Remote Domain: Retirement & Financial Services Job Summary: We are seeking a Specialist-Level Angular + Java Developer / Tech Lead with strong full-stack development expertise to support the modernization and enhancement of enterprise applications within the retirement and financial services domain. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building scalable web applications, secure APIs, and microservices while providing technical leadership in an Agile environment. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Angular and Java/J2EE technologies. Build responsive and user-friendly interfaces using Angular 14+, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, and RxJS . Develop backend services using Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, REST APIs, and Microservices . Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions in collaboration with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and Architects . Develop secure, scalable, and high-performance applications supporting retirement and financial services products . Lead application modernization, framework upgrades, and cloud adoption initiatives. Conduct code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and production support . Ensure compliance with coding standards, security guidelines, and performance requirements. Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD implementation and deployment automation . Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development team members. Required Qualifications 8+ years of professional software development experience. Strong hands-on expertise in Angular and Java technologies. Advanced experience with Angular 14+, TypeScript, RxJS, HTML5, CSS3, and Bootstrap . Strong expertise in Java 8/11/17, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, RESTful APIs, and Microservices . Experience with Oracle/SQL databases and complex query optimization. Strong knowledge of Git, Jenkins, Maven, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies . Experience working on enterprise-scale application development and modernization initiatives. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with AWS or Azure cloud platforms. Experience in retirement, pension, wealth management, banking, or financial services . Experience leading development teams or mentoring engineers. Knowledge of secure application development and enterprise security standards.
