We are seeking a
PMO Analytics & Reporting Specialist
to support our Program Management Office (PMO) with accurate, consistent, and actionable reporting across the portfolio. You will build and maintain dashboards, standardize metrics and definitions, automate recurring reporting, and partner with Program/Project Managers to turn data into insights that improve planning and execution.
In this role, you will be the PMO's go-to expert for BI tooling (e.g., Power BI) and reporting workflows, connecting to data sources such as Jira, Smartsheet, SharePoint/Excel, and other operational systems. You will also apply AI-assisted analysis to speed up insight generation (e.g., variance explanations, trend summaries, draft executive narratives) while ensuring outputs are accurate, traceable, and appropriate for the audience.
You will ensure reporting is reliable, governed, and easy for stakeholders to consume - from team-level views to executive readouts.
Please include a cover letter with your resume (in one file) describing how you would be a great fit at Photonic and what attributes you could bring to our growing team.
WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO
Partner with PMO leadership and Program/Project Managers to define a reporting strategy (core KPIs, cadence, audiences, templates) across the portfolio.
Build and maintain dashboards and scorecards (e.g., schedule health, milestone delivery, capacity/throughput, risk/issue trends, dependency tracking, resource allocation/management, budget burn where applicable).
Own metric definitions and data governance: establish clear calculations, ensure consistent use across teams, and document data lineage and assumptions.
Develop automated and repeatable data pipelines/refresh routines; reduce manual reporting through standardization and automation.
Integrate data from common PM tools (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet, SharePoint/Excel) and validate data quality through checks, reconciliation, and exception reporting.
Leverage AI tools to accelerate reporting workflows (e.g., automated narrative generation, anomaly detection, and first-draft insights), and validate results with source data before sharing.
Apply responsible AI practices in reporting (data privacy, access control, prompt hygiene, and clear human accountability) and help define lightweight standards for AI use within the PMO.
WHAT YOU BRING TO OUR TEAM
Bachelor's degree in analytics, business, engineering, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3-6+ years of experience in analytics, reporting, business intelligence, or PMO/operations analytics.
Strong proficiency with BI tools - especially Power BI (data modelling, DAX, visuals, publishing, access management) and/or similar tools.
Experience working with project/portfolio data and tools (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet, MS Project, SharePoint/Confluence, Excel).
Solid understanding of data concepts (data quality, governance, KPI definition, dimensional modelling); SQL and basic ETL experience are strong assets.
Ability to translate ambiguous stakeholder questions into clear analyses and simple, repeatable reporting solutions.
Experience using AI/LLM-assisted analytics features (e.g., Copilot, natural-language querying, AI-supported narrative summaries) with an understanding of limitations, validation steps, and data governance.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting insights to both technical teams and executives.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple requests with competing deadlines.
