Job DescriptionJob Description Job Title: Afternoon Shipper and Receiver (Material Handler) Job Description This role focuses on shipping, receiving, and material handling in a high-efficiency manufacturing warehouse. You will receive and verify incoming shipments, pick and prepare outbound orders, and operate forklifts—primarily Counterbalance and Reach trucks—to move materials safely and efficiently. You will also use basic computer applications and an ERP system to maintain accurate inventory records and support smooth warehouse operations. Responsibilities Receive incoming orders and shipments, verify quantities and documentation, and ensure accuracy against packing slips and system records. Pick and prepare outbound orders according to schedules, ensuring the correct materials are selected, labeled, and staged for shipping. Operate Counterbalance and Reach forklifts safely for approximately 40%–60% of the workday to move, load, and unload materials within the warehouse. Use RF scanners and ERP software to record inventory movements, update stock levels, and maintain accurate system data. Organize and store materials in designated locations, ensuring items are clearly labeled, easy to locate, and properly recorded in the inventory system. Support inventory management activities by helping track stock levels, reporting discrepancies, and assisting with cycle counts as required. Follow all safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others. Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure timely shipping, receiving, and material flow throughout the facility. Maintain a clean and orderly work area, including keeping aisles, storage locations, and equipment clear and free from obstructions. Use basic MS Office and related software tools to complete documentation, reports, and other administrative tasks related to shipping, receiving, and inventory. Essential Skills Minimum 2+ years of experience operating Counterbalance forklifts. Minimum 2+ years of experience operating Reach forklifts. Valid forklift driving certification and license. Minimum 1+ years of experience using ERP systems for inventory, shipping, and receiving activities. Proficiency with basic computer skills, including MS Office applications. Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving processes in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. Experience with RF scanners for material handling and inventory tracking. Strong attention to detail when verifying shipments, picking orders, and updating system records. Ability to follow safety procedures and operate material handling equipment in a safe and controlled manner. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with inventory management systems and related software. Familiarity with ERP platforms, including modules used for shipping, receiving, and inventory control. Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting handling materials and organizing stock. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks such as receiving, picking, and system updates efficiently. Why Work Here? Work Environment This is an afternoon shift position, working Monday to Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. in a new, large warehouse with high ceilings and good lighting. The facility is open and spacious, with materials well organized to support efficient picking, storage, and inventory control. Some dust may be present in the environment, typical of a busy warehouse setting. You will spend a significant portion of your day operating forklifts and moving materials, and the rest performing tasks such as receiving, verifying shipments, and updating the inventory system. All necessary materials and tools are provided, and the layout is designed to help you locate, store, and organize items effectively while maintaining accurate system records.
