As an
Aerospace Engine Mechanic Trainee
, you’ll participate in a comprehensive 14-week paid training program designed to provide the foundational knowledge, hands-on experience, and technical skills required to support turbine engine maintenance and repair operations. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be assigned to one of our engine programs in Winnipeg.
What you’ll do:
Participate in a structured 14-week paid turbine engine mechanic training program
Learn repair and overhaul processes for gas turbine engines
Inspect engine modules and engine components in accordance with technical standards
Follow aviation safety practices, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Read and interpret manuals, technical drawings, and blueprints
Complete instructor-led classroom, lab, and practical on-engine training
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Use hand tools and specialized equipment to support maintenance activities
Collaborate with team members and instructors throughout the training program
Transition into an assigned engine program upon successful completion of training
Basic Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 2 years of job-related training or experience preferred
Minimum 2+ years of experience reading and interpreting applicable technical data, Blueprints and drawing is preferred.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation
Ability to stand for extended periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation
Desired Skills
Previous mechanical, automotive, manufacturing, or aviation-related experience preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to learn quickly in a hands-on training environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks
