Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary Range: $23.16 to $27.65 (Depending on education and experience)
The Administrative Assistant/Bookkeeper plays a crucial role in supporting the Economic Development Department. By providing administrative, financial, and clerical services, they facilitate efficient operations and contribute to our mission of promoting sustainable economic growth. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, fostering sustainable economic development within the Whitefish River First Nation community.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative Duties:
Provide general administrative support to the Economic Development team.
Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and take minutes.
Maintain organized filing systems (digital and physical).
Bookkeeping Duties:
Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks).
Process invoices, receipts, payments, and payroll.
Reconcile bank statements and prepare monthly financial reports.
Departmental Support:
Assist in the planning and execution of community events, public meetings, and stakeholder engagements.
Coordinate logistics for workshops, conferences, and outreach activities.
Assist with grant applications and reporting requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in bookkeeping and administrative support.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Knowledge of Indigenous governance and economic development is an asset.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
SKILLS:
Strong attention to detail to minimize errors in financial records.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
Understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
