Eligibility Criteria:
The candidate must meet the criteria below to qualify for
roles funded by Canada Summer Jobs.
The
candidate must be between the ages of 15 and 30 at the beginning of the
employment period.
The
candidate must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person who
has been granted refugee status in Canada
The
candidate must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of
employment.

Who We Are:
Heritage Park is Canada's largest living history museum and
offers visitors a chance to experience life in Western Canada from the 1860s to
the early 1950s. The Park features historical buildings, costumed interpreters,
working antiques, and various exhibits that provide insight into the region's
past.
Job Overview:
This position will be responsible for executing the health and safety program, including employee competency tracking, hazard assessment, policy review and revision, training, statistics tracking, and overall program monitoring and reporting.
Responsibilities:
Administer incident reports, ensuring accurate documentation, timely follow-up, and proper record management.
Ensure standard program documentation is conducted including hazard / risk assessments, inspections, and job safety analysis.
Assist in incident investigations: work with appropriate personnel to ensure investigation and action items are complete and satisfactory.
Assist as required with WCB case administration, injury management, and modified work programs.
Update employee training records in client and company HSE databases.
Support development of weekly and monthly safety bulletins and presentations.
Required Qualifications:
Must meet the Canada Summer Jobs eligibility criteria.
Education in Business Administration, Office Administration, or Health & Safety is an asset.
Experience in an administrative role is an asset.
Strong skills with computer applications; proficient in Microsoft Office Suit
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
High level of integrity and trustworthiness in handling confidential organizational information
Commitment to continuous learning and development
Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills in a client-faced setting
All successful candidates who are over the age of 18 are required to complete a background check. Employment at Heritage Park is contingent upon receipt of a satisfactory report prior to their contract start date.
Special Clothing and Equipment
Appropriate costuming and safety equipment will be provided by Heritage Park; and
Footwear, as designated by the Heritage Park Costume Department, will be provided by the employee.
Special Working Conditions
While much of the work will take place in an office environment, a significant part of the role requires working outdoors and potential exposure to extreme weather; and
This position is physically demanding, and the incumbent must have the ability to lift heavy items, stand for long periods of time and walk throughout the Park for extended periods.
