Job DescriptionJob Description Accounting Clerk Permanent Full-Time Location: Town Office The Opportunity The Town of Esterhazy is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to support financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, utility billing, reconciliations, and reporting. This role ensures accurate financial records while providing responsive service to staff, vendors, and residents. This is a Union Position with wages in Accordance with CUPE Local 5428 Collective Agreement. Key Responsibilities Process invoices, receipts, utility billing, and collections. Balance daily receipts, prepare deposits, and reconcile petty cash. Enter data, post to the general ledger, and maintain financial records. Assist with reports, audits, grants, and special projects. Maintain both physical and electronic filing systems with accuracy and confidentiality. Respond to finance-related inquiries and provide customer service. Ensure all work is conducted professionally and in compliance with Town policies. Qualifications & Skills: Grade 12 or GED (Office Administration Certificate or related post-secondary education is an asset) Valid Class 5 Saskatchewan driver's licence with clean abstract RCMP security clearance, including a vulnerable sector check Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Munisoft experience is an asset Strong accuracy, organization, and communication skills Familiarity with municipal or public sector finance is an asset Progression & Training: This position includes structured progression through three defined levels based on hours worked, demonstrated skills, and ongoing training. Opportunities for increased responsibility include independent transaction processing, audit preparation, procurement support, financial reporting, budgeting, and mentoring junior staff.
