About the Role

As our
Accounting & Business Process Manager
, you'll manage the day-to-day accounting functions while helping improve business processes, reporting, and the effective use of technology across the organization.
This is a
hands-on role
in a growing, team-oriented manufacturing company. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day accounting function while working closely with management and supervising
one direct report
. We're looking for someone who enjoys being involved in the details while also identifying opportunities to improve processes and systems.
Working closely with management and other departments, you'll support accounting, inventory, operations, and business systems while identifying practical opportunities to improve efficiency and reporting.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, learning new systems, and contributing to the success of a growing manufacturing company.
If you are an experienced accounting professional, preferably with a CPA, with strong practical experience who has developed solid financial and operational expertise through hands-on business roles, we'd like to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Administration
Manage the day-to-day accounting functions for Canadian and U.S. operations
Oversee month-end and year-end accounting processes, financial reporting and reconciliations, day-to-day banking activities
Monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory accounting, and financial controls
Administer payroll, pension plans and group benefits
Coordinate business insurance renewals
Ensure payroll, tax, and regulatory filings are completed accurately and on time
Work with external accountants and tax advisors to prepare annual corporate tax filings and year-end financial statements
Act as the primary contact for external accountants, auditors, insurance providers, banks, and government agencies
Business Processes & Systems
Identify opportunities to improve business processes using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, automation, AI, and other technology solutions.
Support and optimize Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and related business systems to improve efficiency, reporting, and data accuracy.
Work with accounting, sales, operations, and warehousing to streamline workflows and eliminate manual processes.
Operations Support
Work with manufacturing and operations to improve inventory accuracy, costing, and reporting
Assist with sales reporting, commissions, and other analytical business reporting
Analyze financial and operational information to support day-to-day decision making
What We're Looking For
We're more interested in your ability, initiative, and willingness to learn than specific credentials.
Experienced accounting professionals, CPA candidates, accounting students with relevant practical experience, and individuals with equivalent hands-on accounting, finance, or business operations experience are encouraged to apply.
Experience managing accounting processes and preparing financial reports
Strong Excel, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Experience with Microsoft 365 Business Central or similar ERP systems is an asset
Interest in technology, automation, and continuous improvement
Manufacturing experience is an asset but not required
Corporate tax and audit expertise is not required—you'll work closely with external accountants and tax professionals on annual corporate tax filings, year-end financial statements, and audit requirements
