Due to continued growth, CIMA+ has immediate openings for Construction Inspectors based out of our Mississauga, Burlington, Kitchener, or Bowmanville offices. This position will provide the opportunity to join our innovative, supportive, and dynamic infrastructure and field services team. You will be working on a variety of infrastructure projects.
Primary Responsibilities
Engineering site inspection on municipal construction projects for quality control and adherence with applicable provincial standards, engineering design and technical specifications.
Document construction site activities by keeping a detailed daily diary, taking photos, performing survey checks, and recording as-built conditions.
Identify and monitor deficiencies.
Provide problem resolution/field solutions with respect to unforeseen construction issues.
Attend and participate in construction progress meetings.
Review and comment on construction progress payment certificates and quotations.
Arrange on-site geotechnical investigations and material testing for concrete, granular materials and asphalt.
Coordinate with Engineering for specialist inspections.
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act on construction sites with authority to issue stop work orders; ensure proper Ministry and project procedures are followed to ensure public/pedestrian safety.
Liaise with clients, regulatory inspectors, various utility companies, residents, and other stakeholders as required.
Undertake site inspection duties as required.
Assist with preparation of contract documents and specifications.
