Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAs an Outside Sales Representative, you will sell industrial metal recycling services to mid- and large-sized manufacturers across the Greater Toronto Area. You will be responsible for acquiring new accounts that generate recurring scrap metal volumes while managing an existing book of business. This role is 75% new business development and 25% account management, requiring frequent plant visits and strong relationship-building. This position offers a base salary of $100,000–$130,000, with an annual discretionary bonus based on personal and organizational performance.

OFFICE LOCATION & SALES TERRITORY:
Head Office: Hamilton, ON
Hybrid: 1–2 days/week in office once trained for sales meetings
Training Requirement: 3–6 months on-site in Hamilton (5 days/week initially)
Territory: GTA area from Mississauga, Newmarket, Scarborough to surrounding areas
EXPERIENCE, BACKGROUND & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
3–10 years of B2B sales experience
Proven new business development success
Industrial / manufacturing / production sales experience preferred
Strong relationship-building skills at all organizational levels
Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle required
Post-secondary education or equivalent experience
Stable job tenure
Entrepreneurial, high-energy, competitive, and confident
THE PRODUCT / SERVICE / SOLUTION:
The company provides industrial metal recycling services. Sales representatives secure recurring scrap streams from manufacturers, supported by vertically integrated transportation, processing, and logistics capabilities. Pricing may be monthly or based on long-term index-linked agreements.
PROSPECTIVE CUSTOMERS / INDUSTRY FOCUS / DECISION MAKERS:
Automotive manufacturers
Metal stamping facilities
Steel fabricators
CNC machining and production facilities
Industrial manufacturers producing ongoing scrap
Decision Makers: Purchasing, Plant Managers, VPs, Owners
SALES CYCLE / ORDER VALUE / ACCOUNT SIZE:
Sales Cycle: 3–12 months
4–6 site visits required to secure first loa
Account size determined by recurring monthly scrap volumes
TYPICAL DAY & DUTIES:
Prospect and develop new industrial accounts through field activity
Conduct plant visits, site assessments, and scrap-flow evaluations
Develop proposals and pricing packages tied to market conditions
Build long-term relationships with operational, purchasing, and leadership teams
Maintain accurate pipeline and activity records in CRM
Support onboarding and service rollout for new accounts
Attend weekly strategy and collaboration meetings
LEADS:
Warm Leads: 0–25%
Self-generated / Prospecting: 75%
OVERNIGHT TRAVEL:
Occasional (2–3 times per year for training, trade shows, or major client visits)
SUPPORT & TRAINING:
3–6 months of structured training in Hamilton head office
Hands-on yard/operations exposure
Pricing model training
Job Shadowing / Joint Sales Calls
Continuous mentoring and coaching
