Job Summary: The Senior Software Developer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-quality enterprise applications. This role involves full-stack development with a focus on backend services using Java and Spring Boot, as well as frontend components using React or Angular. The developer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle to deliver robust solutions that meet business requirements and comply with industry standards. Responsibilities: Translate business requirements and technical specifications into scalable, secure, and tested applications. Develop detailed technical designs and programming specifications. Write, review, and maintain clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices. Build and enhance data-driven applications and backend services. Design and execute unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure quality and reliability. Design and implement modern, responsive frontend components using React or Angular. Develop robust backend services and APIs using Spring Boot and related frameworks. Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices architectures. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across development, testing, and production environments. Support application deployment, data migration, and system integration activities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams through code reviews, design sessions, and Agile ceremonies. Ensure all solutions meet security, performance, scalability, and accessibility standards (including AODA compliance). Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and standards. Provide technical support for implementation, system integration, data conversion, and migration activities. Required Skills: 10+ years of experience developing n-tier enterprise applications. Expertise in application design, latest design patterns, deployment, and troubleshooting. Strong proficiency with Java, JPA/Hibernate, and Spring Boot Framework. Proficient in database design and SQL development with PostgreSQL, PL/pgSQL, and Azure Cosmos DB. Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks such as React or Angular. Experience gathering and documenting requirements from business stakeholders. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Experience with RESTful API design and microservices architecture. Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and SDLC processes. Desired Skills: Experience building cloud-native, internet-facing applications on Azure. Knowledge of middleware, API gateways, or integration services. Experience leading design walkthroughs and technical discussions. Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and WCAG standards. Experience with test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) practices. Experience with Oracle E-Business Suite and related Oracle technologies (PL/SQL, Oracle Data Integrator) is a plus.
