We're looking for a Junior Carpenter who has a solid foundation in residential construction, takes pride in quality work, and is eager to learn from experienced Carpenters. Steady, year-round work Work on a variety of residential renovations, additions, and remodeling projects Learn alongside experienced Carpenters and Lead Carpenters Opportunities for mentorship and apprenticeship support A clear path for career growth within the company Early Fridays with a half-day schedule A team-focused environment where quality and communication matter What You'll Be Doing Assisting with residential renovations, remodels, additions, and basement projects Performing demolition and site preparation Assisting with framing walls, floors, and other structural components Installing insulation, drywall, trim, doors, cabinetry, shelving, and finishing hardware Taking accurate measurements and preparing materials for installation Reading and following construction drawings with support from senior team members Safely operating and maintaining hand tools and power tools Keeping jobsites clean, organized, and safe Loading, unloading, and organizing materials Supporting experienced Carpenters with daily project tasks Communicating professionally with homeowners and team members when needed Taking care of company tools, equipment, and vehicles What We Offer $20-$28/hour , based on experience and skill level Full-time, year-round employment Interior renovation work throughout the winter Early Fridays: 9-hour days Monday through Thursday and a half-day Friday Weekends are generally yours. Occasional weekend work may be required to meet a deadline, but it is rare and planned in advance. 75% employer-paid health, dental, and health practitioner coverage after 90 days Paid sick days $500 annual tool allowance after 90 days Valdek-branded workwear Regular in-house crew meetings where your ideas and input are valued Ongoing mentorship and apprenticeship support A clear opportunity to grow within the company Who We're Looking For Has 2-3 years of hands-on carpentry or residential construction experience Has experience with residential renovations, remodeling, or home construction Has a solid understanding of basic carpentry techniques and construction practices Is comfortable using common hand tools and power tools safely Can take direction, ask questions, and apply feedback Takes pride in producing quality work Is dependable, punctual, and ready to contribute each day Works well as part of a team Has a positive attitude and is willing to take on a variety of tasks Is a registered apprentice or interested in continuing an apprenticeship Has a valid Class 5 driver's licence and reliable transportation Who We Are At Valdek Construction, we believe exceptional renovations begin with exceptional people.
