Rural Roads Health Services (RRHS) is actively seeking applicants for a Registered Nurse position for the Emergency Department. The primary location for this position is: Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital The duration of this temporary contract would be approximately until June 2028, or sooner as determined by RRHS Position Summary: The Registered Dietitian will be responsible for the assessment of nutritional status and the development, implementation and evaluation of care plans to meet the needs of inpatients in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities: Assess the nutritional status of inpatients; develop and implement nutrition care plans; evaluate the effectiveness of nutrition interventions through patient observation, review of relevant lab work, and discussion with the patient or interdisciplinary team; adjust care plans as required. Counsel and educate patients, utilizing clinical information obtained from patient, family members, interdisciplinary team, and patient chart Conduct bedside swallowing screens as required. Collaborate in the provision of enteral and parenteral nutrition (TPN) for inpatients. Act as a resource to the Food Services department and support departmental guidelines for food selection and menu modification Develop, revise and implement nutrition and health education programs and activities (i.e. Nutrition Month, Diabetes Month) in the hospital and within the community. Act as a mentor and educator for dietetic interns from various university programs. Refer inpatients to appropriate outpatient programs as needed (e.g. Diabetes Education Program) Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Nutrition (or equivalent), with recognized internship from accredited facility. Registered member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario. Eligible for membership with Dietitians of Canada. Previous clinical experience preferred. Certified Diabetes Educator designation an asset. Strong written and verbal communication and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of patients and stakeholders. High level of initiative and adaptability to rapidly changing demands. Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within an inter-professional health care team.
