What you'll do
Under the direction of the DON, the Nurse Manager has 24-hour responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing home and their effect on resident care in a designated unit. The Nurse Manager has authority to make decisions on that unit in the areas of resident care, human resource, and financial management.
Assists the DON in development, implementation, and evaluation of on-going service programs that assure quality nursing and resident care programs consistent with Bassett Health Network mission
Participates in program development proposal as requested by DON
Monitors/Maintains unit compliance with regulatory, accrediting and hospital policy for resident services, and environmental and personnel safety
Accurately identifies real/potential problems affecting the service and implements solutions with follow-through and communication
Assesses need for personal growth and development and takes the initiative in seeking opportunities to meet this need.
Oversees unit CQI programs that monitors and evaluates critical aspects of care
Fosters a service that is consistent with the resident care beliefs and shared management philosophy of the department
Consults with residents/families though primary nurse request, direct family request, and/or direct assessment of resident/family response to condition change. Assesses resident/significant other survey responses regarding nursing care and services
Responsible for on-going development of staff and unit specific resident care programs
Responsible for effective and efficient fiscal management of department operations to ensure proper utilization of organizational and financial resources
Responsible for department’s operational excellence; ensures department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies
Manages human resources to assure quality services and promote positive employee relations
Promotes a positive image of professional nursing and serves as a role model to staff
Attains all agreed to goals and objectives within specified time frames, as part of the organization’s overall mission
Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards
Follows the hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens
Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all residents, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment
Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department/unit team inter-and intra-departmentally to facilitate the department’s/ unit’s ability to meet its goals and objectives
Accepts Supervisor assignment as requested
Provides resident education as needed
Accepts charge responsibility as directed
Performs medication administration in an efficient manner as needed
What we need from you
Education:
2 Year / Associate Degree and Current registration as RN in NYS, required
All RN’s hired and do not currently hold a BSN will be expected to demonstrate enrollment in a bachelor’s prepared nursing program within 4 years of hire. BSN must be completed within 10 years. RN’s licensed on or before 12/19/17 are/remain exempt from this requirement.
4 Year / Bachelor's Degree with concentration in nursing, preferred
Experience:
Minimum 2 years experience in long term care clinical experience
Licensure/Certifications:
Current NYS Registered Nurse License, required

We are also offering a sign-on bonus for this position! The bonus amounts are based on the position type and are listed below. Additional details and eligibility requirements will be discussed during the interview process. Bonus Amount:
RN (excluding management) sign-on bonuses are awarded in the amount of $20,000 for full time
LPN sign on bonuses are awarded in the amount of $10,000 for full time

Pay Transparency
Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement.
Pay Range Minimum:
USD $98,899.20/Yr.
Pay Range Maximum:
USD $148,348.80/Yr.
