Job description:
310T Truck and Coach Technician/Apprentice- Cambridge
Altruck International Truck Centres is seeking Licensed 310T Truck and Coach Technician, or 2nd +-3rd year apprentice under a valid Registered 310T Training Agreement with Skills Trade Ontario or equivalent to join our team at
our Cambridge location. (120 McGovern Drive, Cambridge).
Job Summary:
As a 310T Truck and Coach Technician, or apprentice under a training agreement and supervision, you will be performing repairs and maintenance on medium and heavy-duty trucks ensure that they are in safe and reliable working condition. Responsibilities
:
Perform routine maintenance, safeties and repairs on heavy-duty trucks including diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems
Diagnose and troubleshoot problems using advanced diagnostic tools and equipment
Conduct inspections to identify potential issues before they become major problems
Use manufacturer's service manuals and technical data to repair and maintain vehicles
Communicate with customers to explain work needed
Work efficiently and effectively to meet tight deadlines and minimize downtime
Attend company sponsored training classes and dealer specific training courses as scheduled by management
Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve processes and reduce waste
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary training in a related field (e.g. motive power/auto technology) an asset
1-3 years of experience as a licensed heavy-duty truck technician or equivalent experience in the industry
Licensed 310T Truck & Coach Technician, or a 2nd or 3rd year apprentice working under a valid Registered Training Agreement with Skills Ontario Trades of equivalent and 2-3 years of experience.
Valid G class driver’s license with a good driving record. Z Endorsement an asset.
Must have necessary hand tools.
Able to read and comprehend instructions and information.
Strong mechanical aptitude and analytical skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with a range of medium and heavy trucks
Familiarity with computerized diagnostic equipment and software
Experience with fleet management software (e.g. Fleet Complete)
Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Basic computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office)
