The Sturgeon and Edmonton Suburban Hospitals are seeking casual Social Workers who can support emergency department and inpatient work across distinctive settings. This position requires a high degree of independent critical thinking and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. You will have the opportunity to provide support to patients and families across a range of clinical activities including decision-making, finances, housing, crisis intervention, supportive counselling, resourcing, and system navigation. You will be required to prioritize workload, formulate assessments and create intervention plans while communicating closely with hospital staff. The Casual Social Worker II will demonstrate exceptional communication skills with patients, family members and hospital staff that includes appropriate and professional Connect Care documentation. Each Hospital is a unique working environment with nuance while the functions of the role and overall Social Work approach will be aligned with ALA priorities, the ACSW Standards of Practice, ethics, and all relevant legislation and policy. This position is eligible for shifts at multiple sites.
