Description
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Working in a computerized environment, the Pharmacy Assistant measures, compounds, packages and distributes drugs and medications as authorised by a Pharmacist; checks the work of other Pharmacy Assistants for completeness and accuracy; and maintains related records in accordance with established procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:Education, Training And Experience
Grade 12, graduation from a recognised Pharmacy Assistant course, plus one (1) year's recent, related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Skills And Abilities
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Deal with others effectively.
Physically able to perform the duties of the position.
