Position Overview
We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented
Kitchen Support Staff
to assist with daily food service operations at
CFB Gagetown
. The successful candidates will support meal preparation, food handling, and kitchen maintenance while adhering to strict hygiene and safety standards in a fast-paced environment.
Shift Schedule
Workdays:
Thursday to Monday
Shift Length:
8.5 hours per shift (including 1 x 30-minute unpaid meal break)
Available Shifts:
Early Shift:
05:30 – 14:00 (4 positions)
Late Shift:
10:30 – 19:00 (4 positions)
Note: Preference will be given to candidates who can commit consistently to the same shift to minimize training time and ensure operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in food preparation and basic cooking tasks
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils
Support food service operations, including serving and portioning meals
Follow all food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety regulations
Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing food supplies
Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and supervisors to ensure smooth operations
Mandatory Requirements
Language:
English (Essential)
Security Clearance:
Valid
CPIC (Criminal Record Check)
required prior to start
Ability to work assigned shifts (early morning or late shift, Thursday–Monday)
Strong attention to hygiene, safety, and cleanliness
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Dress Code / Uniform Requirements
Black top with sleeves (
no tank tops
)
Black pants (
no leggings
)
Non-slip, closed-toe footwear (mandatory)
Clothing must be properly fitted (not loose) to avoid hazards with kitchen equipment
Uniforms must not be worn to and from the workplace
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or food service environment
Familiarity with food safety standards and kitchen operations
Reliability and consistency in attendance and performance
