Fixed Asset Accountant to work in our Accounting & Finance Department
and join our growing team at our Brampton office.
Responsibilities
Prepare consolidated financial statements by analyzing data from the general ledger system and various departments.
Maintain the fixed asset ledger, ensuring timely and accurate recording of asset acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.
Review and reconcile fixed asset sub-ledger to the general ledger monthly.
Maintain detailed documentation for asset additions, disposals, impairments, and revaluations.
Prepare and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes related to fixed assets.
Handle day-to-day accounting activities including invoice processing, bank reconciliations, and month-end closings.
Perform full-cycle bookkeeping including monthly accounting, GST/HST filings, and payroll processing.
Coordinate and prepare documentation for CRA audits and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Develop and analyze financial reports using advanced spreadsheet tools to verify financial data.
Prepare general ledger entries, reconcile accounts, and maintain accurate financial records.
Assist in the preparation and completion of financial statements and tax returns for compilation engagements.
Evaluate internal accounting procedures and recommend process improvements.
Support monthly and quarterly close processes.
Maintain strict confidentiality and safeguard company financial information.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation or active CPA candidate strongly preferred.
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Finance and Accounting.
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with
Workday
(preferred).
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced skills in
MS Excel
and
MS Outlook
.
Experience with accounting software such as
QuickBooks
and
Sage 300
is a strong asset.
Ability to manage a high volume of invoices and payments with efficiency and accuracy.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and problem-solving.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
