Our client is an established distributor serving the construction market (B2B) across Canada. The business continues to grow and is strengthening its internal leadership team to support that momentum.
Due to growth of market share and the overall business, they are immediately hiring for a Customer Service Manager to oversee the customer service team and enhance their inside sales function across the organization. This individual will guide a well established CSR team of 8+ and ensure the business continues to deliver reliable, responsive support to internal sales teams and end users.
The position combines team leadership, process improvement, and close collaboration with sales and operations. The goal is simple. Maintain a strong service culture while improving structure, communication, and efficiency as the company grows.
Position Overview
The Customer Service Manager will oversee a team of 8+ Customer Service Representatives and act as the central link between customers, sales, and operations.
This leader will provide direction, coaching, and accountability while staying connected to the daily workflow of the department. The role suits someone who enjoys building systems, mentoring people, and improving how teams work together.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of Customer Service Representatives responsible for order management and customer support
- Establish clear service standards, performance expectations, and reporting metrics
- Partner with sales and operations to ensure accurate communication, strong follow up, and consistent service delivery
- Review and refine internal workflows to improve response time, order accuracy, and team efficiency
- Coach and develop staff through regular feedback, performance planning, and training
- Encourage a culture focused on responsiveness, accountability, and problem solving
- Contribute to broader operational planning as the company continues to scale
Candidate Background
- Experience leading a customer service, inside sales, or order management team within a B2B environment
- Exposure to building materials, construction supply, or wholesale distribution is strongly valued
- 5+ years of management experience within customer service or inside sales
- Comfortable managing teams of eight or more employees
- Strong organizational skills and a structured approach to managing workflow and performance
- Clear communicator who works well with sales teams, warehouse operations, and customers
- Practical mindset with a focus on improving systems and supporting team success
