Job Description
We are currently looking for an experienced Construction Inspector to join our Infrastructure team in Ottawa. As a Construction Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and compliance of construction activities on infrastructure construction projects.
Job Responsibilities:
Engineering site inspection on municipal construction projects for quality control and adherence with applicable provincial standards, engineering design and technical specifications
Document construction site activities (keeping a detailed daily report log, taking photos, performing survey checks, and recording as-built conditions) and identify and monitor deficiencies
Track and prepare end-of-month quantity reports for contractor progress payment
Provide problem resolution and field solutions with respect to unforeseen construction issues and participate in construction progress meetings
Arrange on-site geotechnical investigations and material testing (for concrete, granular materials, and asphalt) and coordinate with Engineering for specialist inspections
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act on construction sites with authority to issue stop work orders; ens
