Overview
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established construction group in the Richmond Hill area seeking an experienced
Accounting Manager
. This is a key role within the organization, ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented professional who can operate both strategically and tactically. The successful candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, along with experience in cost analysis and a proactive, solutions-driven mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, general ledger, and month-end close
Perform detailed financial analysis and reporting to support business decisions
Manage job costing, project accounting, and cost control processes
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls
Collaborate with internal departments to support financial operations and reporting needs
Support and mentor accounting staff as needed
Qualifications
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within the construction industry
Strong understanding of cost accounting and project-based financials
Experience with
Sage
and/or
Microsoft Dynamics
is considered a strong asset
Professional accounting designation (CPA or in progress) preferred
Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
