Job Title: Costume Character Contract Period: August 21st - September 7th, 2026 Pay Rate: $17.60 / hr ABOUT US Looking for a summer job that’s fun, by the waterfront and gets you access to one of Toronto’s most iconic events? Come join our team at the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE)! The CNE, often affectionately referred to as The Ex, is Canada’s largest community event and one of the top ten agricultural fairs in North America, attracting approximately 1.6 million visitors annually over the course of its 18-day run. With something for everyone, the CNE offers a wide range of attractions and interactive entertainment experiences including: concerts, midway rides and games, shopping, exhibits, tech and gaming hubs, food and wacky treats! Join the team and be part of this summer tradition, helping us inspire Canadians and create memories! Responsibilities Engage and greet the pubic throughout the grounds Remain in character while in costume Interact with guests (shakes hands and gives hugs) Maintain safety standards Required Skills Friendly disposition A light theatre background an asset Required Qualifications Minimum Age Requirement: 14 years Must be between 4’10” and 5’6” tall to meet costume requirements Available to work all 18 days of the fair Available to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends Able to attend Mandatory Orientation Session Special Conditions Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time Must be able to perform in hot weather conditions Ability to wear a full body character costume; performing in an enclosed costume Learned Skills Customer Service Skills Patience & Tolerance Teamwork Self-motivation Skills Adaptability Communication Skills INVITATION TO APPLY Interested candidates should submit a resume and cover letter (optional) outlining related experience and qualifications to the attention of the CNE, Human Resources Department.
