The CNE, often affectionately referred to as The Ex, is Canada’s largest community event and one of the top ten agricultural fairs in North America, attracting approximately 1.6 million visitors annually over the course of its 18-day run. About the CNEF 50/50 Raffle Each year, the CNE Foundation raises vital funds to support its charitable and youth programs. Proceeds from the 50/50 raffle help fund community initiatives year-round. Tickets are sold online before and during the CNE, as well as in person at the event. Licensed by the AGCO, every ticket purchased supports CNE Foundation programs. During the event, 50/50 Ticket Sellers operate from multiple outdoor activations and designated roaming areas across the CNE grounds. Position Overview: Reporting to the 50/50 Assistant Manager, the 50/50 Ticket Seller will engage with CNE guests to promote and sell 50/50 raffle tickets while delivering excellent customer service and supporting awareness of CNE Foundation initiatives. This role involves roaming across the CNE grounds, operating mobile sales devices, handling cash and credit transactions, and ensuring compliance with AGCO regulations and responsible gambling practices. Responsibilities Promote and sell 50/50 raffle tickets using electronic tablets and printers Engage with guests in a friendly, professional, and proactive manner Communicate 50/50 program details and CNE Foundation messaging Follow internal sales procedures and AGCO compliance requirements Request identification and provide responsible gambling information as required Process cash and credit transactions accurately Maintain accurate sales records and complete end-of-shift cash reconciliation Troubleshoot mobile sales devices when needed Achieve sales targets and contribute to overall program success Assist with opening, closing, and maintaining selling locations Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications and Requirements Strong communication, customer service, and persuasion skills Energetic, self-motivated, reliable, and sales-oriented Comfortable approaching and interacting with large crowds Detail-oriented with strong cash-handling abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Experience in sales, customer service, or 50/50 ticket sales is an asset Familiarity with mobile devices and basic troubleshooting skills preferred Must be at least 18 years old Must complete orientation and responsible gambling training Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and the full duration of the 2026 CNE (Aug 21st – Sept 7th) Special Conditions Required to wear a uniform and promotional backpack/flag during shifts Must be able to walk and move throughout the CNE grounds for extended periods May remain stationary for long durations Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as needed Learned and Developed Skills Customer service and communication Sales Teamwork and adaptability Cash handling and problem-solving Self-motivation and attention to detail INVITATION TO APPLY Interested candidates should submit a resume and cover letter (optional) outlining related experience and qualifications to the attention of the CNE, Human Resources Department.
