Indigenous Community Council Program Caseworker

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:
The Indigenous Community Council Program (ICCP) Caseworker is responsible for providing case and file management by facilitating circles, including intervention services to youth, their families, and adults. The focus of services is to encourage accused persons to accept responsibility for their criminal behaviour and to be accountable for their conduct by becoming active in rectifying the wrong they have caused. The ICCP Caseworker is further responsible for administration and ensuring successful completion of Healing & Wellness Plans.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred postsecondary diploma/degree or equivalent in Social Justice Services and/or minimum of three (3) years work in social or justice services environment.
Knowledge of the judicial system, Criminal Code, and other related federal and provincial statutes. Knowledge of sentencing principles, alternative measures and restorative justice principles.
Knowledge of Indigenous culture and experience working with Indigenous persons; understanding of the northern cultural environment;
