Job Description
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, the
Sewing Technician
is responsible for ensuring that the correct material fabric & thread are used to complete the required work professionally and promptly. This position also checks for any repairs not indicated on the FireTrack work sheet and completes the repairs and records them on the worksheet.
Main Responsibilities
Complete all repairs in accordance with the Established Repairs Procedure;
Ensure correct thread & materials are used on all repairs;
Make all repairs necessary as described on the work reports or as evidenced during your evaluation of the garment to ensure the functionality of protective apparel within the applicable standards and guidelines;
Work to be done in a timely manner;
Clean up your work area, collect all tools and material and sweep at the end of each day;
Maintain tools and equipment in working condition, perform regular maintenance;
Update paperwork including work orders, status reports and customer reports;
Other duties as assigned .
Requirements
Professional and courteous demeanour;
Attention to detail;
Troubleshooting;
Excellent organizational skills;
Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English;
Experience in sewing and maintenance of safety-related equipment or industry training would be an asset;
Able to lift up to 50 pounds periodically;
Training will be provided to the right individual where applicable.
