Southern Glazer’s offers a competitive compensation package with expected first year total earnings of $75,000 - $80,000 / year plus bonus and auto allowance/reimbursement. This salary range is an average range for this position. In determining a final offer, the company will evaluate a specific candidate's education, skills and experience and will make an offer appropriately.
Overview
Responsible for building, executing and achieving key account customer objectives, sales activities for a sales team, Key Performance Indicators, and targets by implementing strategies and tactics while managing customers in a manner that will achieve profitable long-term growth. Will also be responsible for managing, coaching, and developing Territory Managers within region and executing short and long-term sales strategies.
Experience
Customer: Managing Key Accounts at a head office level (with the SGLA is preferred), including program execution, tenders, inventory influence, and driving supplier strategies
Leadership: Leading field sales teams through coaching, route optimization, sales process excellence, and in‑market executional performance
Execution: Driving commercial results through customer whitespace analysis, brand launches, innovation presentations, and performance management
Primary Responsibilities
Oversee and maintain the relationships between the Company and regional key customers to form long-term partnerships that deliver measurable results
Drive brand success through leadership selling, trade channels and actively supporting the selling efforts of sales reps, district managers, and key account specialists within the wholesaler.
Manage all components of the sales process including targeting appropriate accounts, lead selling, education, and positioning brands for success at head office level.
Manage a team of Territory Managers; define expectations, monitor progress and counsel if expectations are not met
Direct sales development activity and coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas and goals
Conduct sales meetings, product presentations, train, develop, and motivate the team to foster the success of the sales team
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company goals and initiatives
Compile reports on account progress, goals, and forecasts for teams and stakeholders.
Monitor field implementation and execution of programs within assigned accounts to ensure product pricing and promotion.
Provide detailed tracking reports of wholesaler performance against agreed-to supplier objectives.
Work with key assigned teams to deliver monthly goals (work-withs, product training samples, etc.).
Create, coordinate, and attend on-site promotional functions at established customer accounts or any relevant trade shows in the region.
Analyze and control expenditures within the region to confirm to budgetary requirements
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Additional Primary Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years of industry-related sales experience within the distribution, hospitality, or supplier community.
Valid motor vehicle operator’s license and ability to obtain and maintain valid auto insurance.
Comprehensive understanding of the industry to include regions/varietals, product/ pairing techniques, basic production, and service.
Ability to adapt and can assist a variety of internal customer groups and varying personality types.
Must have strong negotiation skills; demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit.
Ability to create and sell innovative ideas.
Goal-oriented focused, and assertive individual who needs a little direction or supervision.
Ability to work flexible hours which include early morning evenings, and weekends.
Ability to work overnight travel as required.
Ability to participate in business meetings, company initiatives and events upon request.
Proficient at calculating commissions, percentages, and reviewing comparative sales data for analysis.
Stay apprised of federal, state, and local laws affecting the beverage/alcohol industry within account responsibility.
Physical Demands
Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding, using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or mobile device
Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping
May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 48lbs
